Natural gas is transported in pipelines at high pressure, and is generally used at low pressure; in order to reduce the transport pressure to the desired pressure, treatment systems called pressure reducing and metering systems are utilised, which perform various functions, including metering for taxation purposes whenever required.
CPL Energy has a inhouse Engineering capability to design complete systems as per the clients process condition. In order to guarantee complete control and maximum product quality, CPL Energy manufactures all the equipment and systems that it designs in-house. The Group company manufacturing facility, equipped with the latest production equipment, U Stamp certification, occupies a surface area of 50000 Sq.Ft.
Natural gas pressure reducing stations are normally comprised of the following functional units:
- Gas Filtration
- Gas Preheating
- Pressure Reduction
- Gas Metering
ODORIZER
Odorization of natural gas is one of the most important aspects of delivering gas to customers in a distribution system. Natural gas, as it emerges out of the mother earth, is odorless. In order to detect any leaks in the downstream pipeline, an odorant is injected. This is done to fulfill legal requirement as well as for the safety of the persons working on the gas pipelines and end-users of the gas.
The system consists of one or two dosing pumps, a flow meter and mechanical and electro-mechanical components that are interconnected with stainless steel tubes, equipped with compression fittings. These components are controlled by the electronic control unit and perform the following functions: signaling, interception, containment and injection to the network.
- The injection odorization systems is recommended to obtain greater precision in terms of the quantity of liquid injected, lower management costs due to the purchase of liquid odorant, and where the gas flow rate is greater than 30,000 Nm3/h.
Due to the features described above, this model is suitable also for Biogas & LCNG Odorization with multiple injection pumps in 1 system. The control unit is available in a version for the installation in hazardous zone also.
